Marcus Ball

Florida State Head Coach Bobby Bowden made a quick pit stop in Stone Mountain, Georgia on Tuesday afternoon. The target, five-star linebacker Marcus Ball. The Seminole Skipper didn't spend a lot of time at Stephenson High School, but he did leave a lasting impression.

"It went good," said Stephenson Head Coach Ronald Gartrell. "They came in and talked to Marcus and took off. They said they really want to have him. It was a quick visit."

Gartrell says that as far as he knows, his star linebacker did not commit to Florida State during the visit.

"He was excited about seeing Coach Bowden, just like I was," he said. "His decision will come down to signing day. I got no indication on which way he was leaning. They (FSU) are right neck and neck with Miami."

The 6-foot, 210-pound linebacker has already taken his official visit to Florida State and probably won't take any other visits.

"He's already had his official (to FSU)," said Gartrell, "He's not going anywhere that I know."

Ball is ranked as the No. 2 outside LB in the country by Rivals.com and racked up well over 100 tackles over the course of his senior season.

Looks like Tech is outta the picture...hmmm (for some reason I think I have said that before)

He must really like Miami to have them in his top two, and not even have an offer....

Yeah Miami was his favorite but his grades suck so theres a good chance he wont even get an offer. Miami isnt into wanting kids to go the prep school route so if I had to guess, he will be a nole lock.(probably take Callahan Bright's place as the dumbest kid on the team lol)

Callahan is a MORON, and he's never gonna make it to FSU.
Too bad, I was very impressed with his films...

Here's the report I got about him:

As we have been reporting for weeks, five-star DT Callahan Bright is no longer on track to qualify. He is no longer at Hargrave and at this point I honestly have no idea what his future plans are. I suspect he will enroll at a junior college in the near future but the bottom line is he won't be in Garnet and Gold any time soon, if ever.

I heard today that FSU will probably not attempt to re-sign Bright, and as such he has been removed him from FSU's commitment list. Losing a five-star recruit will of course hurt the 'Noles' rankings but if FSU has no intentions of bringing him in with this class I can't leave him as a commitment.
